Information about bamboo as a living plant and an art material will be conveyed in this introductory workshop. The class will start at a local bamboo grove where students will learn about different varieties of bamboo and how their physically characteristics can be used to create art. An introduction into how bamboo grows and is controlled will also be introduced. Information about gathering and pruning bamboo will be conveyed as we gather our materials to create with! Day two and three will be spent in the artists studio, using the bamboo we have gathered.
